The seal therefore can be fitted to the sealing point without other machine parts such as motors, gears and others have to be dismantled first. Also the segmented seal rings can be removed easily.<br/>\nThe seal rings slide on the shaft, are self-adjustable and have gas-tight joints having overlapping mortise. This reduces the radial gap to the shaft and the leakage rate. As a further advantage there are no sealing components mounted on the shaft and hence no additional shaft vibrations will be caused.<br/>\nA shaft sleeve is recommended to counteract the shafts' wear.
